Ooty flood relief

We made visits to flood affected parts of Ooty town and other areas on 12 th november.The conditions are very bad.The people are sheltered in schools with out proper facilities.Even they don`t have clothing to wear.We have organized little help by giving clothes to some 25 families through a pastor.The task of the Government is enormous.Still Ooty town is cut off from all the places.Through Smyrna Home We have provided help to these people.About 950 houses were collapsed,nearly 370 houses were completely destroyed.The people numberin about 1500 are sheltered in 10 different places.The affected people are from Thalayatimund,Mel thalayatimund,Gandhi nagar,Achanakal,Colonies of Thummatty.We were not allowed to go near Manthada,where the relief work ,restoration of road is going on.From other TV channel reports,Thedamages in Coonoor are enormous,The Brigdge near Kattery is blocked.The famous Kurmba resrt resembles like war Zone.There are more 500 land slips and 36 bridges have been damaged.The task is herculean.All should support the authorites.The Police,The district administration,Municipaltiy ,The electricity board are doing their their best.The school going children are most affected.These children should be put in the hostel especially the 10th and 12 th students.They have lost all their belongings including the note books and books,uniforms,
