Loco Travel: Inawashiro - Part 1 (Package arrives, and Hitch-hiking fails)

This will be about a 4-5 part series of videos taken from my recent travels in Fukushima - mostly in the small town of Inawashiro.

I bought an Optimus Nova Plus camp stove and Therm-a-rest NeoAir mattress from Amazon.com.

Buying them this way was ridiculously cheaper than buying them in Japan, and the shipping only took 4 days from order to arrival.
If you decide to buy from Amazon, be very careful that all the products you get are from the main Amazon vendor, not another vendor. The other vendors charge insane prices for shipping and take much longer. You have to finagle a little bit...for example, if you click on the link for the stove I bought, you'll notice the stove is the usual Optimus Nova, not the Nove+ (Plus). But if you click on colors, there is an option to change it to the Optimus Nova+, which I chose. The only seller that actually listed Nova+ for sale wanted to charge about 8 times more for shipping. Glad I stumbled on that little trick! :D

Yeah - I have a couple friends who hitchhiked too.

They all loved it.

I just have too little time and enough money, so it didn't make much sense in the end...

For outdoor goods, the US Amazon prices blow Japanese shop prices out of the water!

Just make sure to buy from the main vendor - other vendors' shipping is expensive and slow, but theirs is quick and pretty cheap.
