I agree, Linux still has a long way to go in the user-friendly department.
That's why I just use Linux for downloading lol I just happened to know how to use Linux and Unix because of my educational background. But for the average folk, linux is difficult to use.
My main PC runs windows.

Windows 7 is a pretty impressive OS with compatibility with the majority of software but since Ubuntu is free, it wins.

What's happening to Windows? It's slowing down... What's happening to Ubuntu? It's getting faster and faster :D
-
NO, with good hardware like I have, the boot-up of win7 is faster but slower than ubuntu BUT at both OS' I can start-up any program directly, just depends on the computer =)

10th Ubuntu rox!
-
@fapo8 because you dont do disk cleanup or disk defragmenter and its taking a long time to start up because it needs to sort through all that junk
-
u had to select windows seven which took 2 seconds it was actually winndows32secs

my win7 x64 is much faster than my ubuntu 10.04 x64!

Good video! However, I have a couple of criticisms:
1) Comparing 2 operating systems from dual boot configuration introduces bias. Due to hard drive physics, all partitions have different transfer speeds. This will give unfair advantage to the OS located on faster partition.
2) Measuring time to desktop (rather than to login screen) would be much more meaningful.

dont use an OS for the features it has, use it for what you need.
