Women's Court: providing mediation for rural and tribal communities in Gujarat, India.mov

Rural and tribal women in Gujarat have very little access
to the law. The NGO Vikalp addresses this need by
supporting two courts for women-the Nari Adalat in
rural Padra and the Mahila Panch in tribal Gujarat.

Thirteen women judges sit on each of the
courts and hear about 150 cases a year. They also
visit villages to collect information and provide practical
advice.
