jumpin' at the woodside - performed by the Classmen

This is a big band that I played in for several years. Most of the music was specifically arranged for the band by a very talented man from Central Ohio named Dave Wheeler. The original band dates back to the 1950's...needless to say I was not one of the original members...HA! But I had a great time playing these fun tunes while it lasted!

I wish I could dance but i'm not very good... i took a ballroom dancing class in college but was pretty bad. i love to see good dancers... its probably why i play in a band...because i stink as a dancer...Ha!

Yep, there is something about a big band and a nice "Fat Sound" with horns that makes it a lot of fun!!! Plus, you can play just about any kind of song with a band this big.... Thanks you Lilly!!!!

Oh yeah.. as a teenager I was asked to join a bigband (I played tenor sax these days) and I would have been the only female musician. What can I say.... I was too coward... :) and some chances never come back. But I learned from it , I hope!

No, I stopped playing sax a long time ago. I still have it here, but my home is the piano now.

So, sorry, no sax-compositions to come :) but it was cool indeed!

Thanks Pete! This was a fun band to play with. I miss playing in it... I did have them in the studio a couple years ago and did get some great songs recorded...
