http://www.rei.com/expertadvice Something that's important when storing your boots, particularly for a long time, is actually buckling the buckles down so that the plastic remembers the shape they are in when you are wearing them the next time. This will make it easier to get on, and they will be easier to buckle up!
Great advice! However the best thing to do instead of struggling is to make sure you warm you're boots up. Nothing worse than trying to squeeze into cold boots! lol Keep them in the car and not in the trunk on the drive to the mountains and you will slip in with ease : )
