EPISODE SYNOPSIS
Having sold over 60 million records across 4 decades, Ian Anderson, known throughout the world of rock music as the flute and voice behind the legendary Jethro Tull meets fellow musician Rick Wakeman face to face, as they explore the mindset and methods behind his lengthy and ongoing career as one of music's most charismatic pioneers.
Anderson reflects on Jethro Tull's passage from relative obscurity to breaking through as an exciting new act with a residency in the infamous London Marquee Club in the late 60's, to becoming one of the most successful live performing acts on the world stage by the mid-70s, rivaling Zeppelin, Elton John and even the Rolling Stones. Ian and Rick muse over the early recording techniques of Jethro Tull, pose the subject of songwriting, cement the pros and cons of the digital recording age, and amusingly discuss the possibility of buying back their iconic 70's rock stage wear on EBay! Now in his 40th year as a recording and performing musician, Ian Anderson shows now sign of slowing down as he continues, to this day, to lead Jethro Tull and their rich and varied repertoire far and wide across the world, typically performing 100 dates a year.
