@eLoveCR7 Our attempts to make a suitable dish soap were failures. I was trying to utilize things I thought wouldn't agitate my wife's soreness on her hands. Nothing yet.

@GumdropDaisy That's not surprising. Castile soap and vinegar counteract each other and produce that film of fatty acid. Too many people who don't know chemistry are promoting recipes like these.

@Dorothy7476 I found some Ivory with aloe. So, I'm experimenting with dissolving it in boiling water and adding some distilled white vinegar. Will see in 24 hours if it's going to work. Keep you fingers crossed.

Why not add some Aloe Vera gel instead of the glycerine? I've seen several recipes for dish soap that use grated up soap (Octagon, Fels Naptha, Zote, ect). They add vinegar to the mix as well. Just wondered if you tried any of these recipes and whether they didn't work as well as your recipe?
Thanks

Hmmm, aloe vera would sure be good for your skin while you wash! I like it!
I have tried the grated soap once and it turned solid and was difficult for me,so
I never did it again. I'm sure they work well, though! Tell me what you try and
what works for you!@1timby
