awsome band - awsome song - and the most completely amazing pics ever

  • The Kinks have been my favourite group since their first single in 1964. Thanks you so much for your kind comments about my photos.

  • Wonderful photos, I had the same idea for this song but I'll have to take my pictures next year as it's already about to snow in my area. Great job though, I enjoyed this immensely! :D

  • Thank you very much for your comments, I appreciate them! I live on a canal boat in England and take photos all year round of my surroundings and as the seasons change. I'll have to find a Kinks song about Spring, Summer and Winter now!! Jan x

  • @CelebrateDiversity1 I couldn't disagree more

  • Although this is a good song I think it would be better if it was updated-perhaps Ray could rerecord this with some wicked rapping from the likes of very talented Tottenham rappers like Skepta or Scorcher-I think that would be really great!!!

  • I often humm the chorus of this gem!

  • hm, i feel similar mood as in Penny Lane by the Beatles :-)

  • this was not released tn the u.s. until 1972. I've never herd it on the raido here.the kinks get no respect.too bad. at least people are discovering them on the internet.when i was a kid you had to buy records if you waanted to hear good music, needless to say i have about 20 kinks records.

  • Perfectly simple lyrics accompanied by perfectly simple images - Beautiful.

My love for my England cannot be corrupted.

This is my street and i'm never gonna leave it.

  • @Yogs3

was a pure genious? Thank God he STILL IS a pure genius!

My personal encounter with Ray happened in 1971 one day at my local at the railway station in East Croydon, Southern London Region, when I was enjoying my pint of Bitter and suddenly the door flung open and in came Ray Davies! I stood right next to him and so I had the chance of talking to him for a while. He even missed another train, because we were having such a nice chat. Good old Ray! I’ll never forget this moment! Dave F.

  • When this was in the charts - I'd be about ten then - I thought it was Automomanac. Come on, I bet I wasn't the only one.
