  • dude. what kind of cymbals are these?

  • Paiste

  • have you ever tried not to copy it? give it your feel and not portnoy's? Try it ;)

Musicians make their own music, not others.

  • I see what you are saying, I really do. Trust me, I can put my own feel to anything I want to and do it well.

I choose to do my covers very close to the original.

  • 4:26 metropolis?

  • Yes, that is where the rhythm pattern was derived from as per Mike Portnoy himself in his video Liquid Drum Theater.

  • many people can do what Mike Portnoy does, the thing that makes Portnoy the drum god that he is, is that he comes up with the material. Even though he is one of the best drummers out there, he is also, in my opinion, a genius.

  • from a drummer of 20 years, that is incredible.

  • great job man ;)

  • WOW! Really WOW!

    Awesome dude!

  • Awesome! Yet the best "home" cover I've seen. But if you looking to a better miking (especially on bass), it would be FLAWLESS!

  • I love this song very much

  • @Jhimest that would be known as whats called a mimic, I mean its not bad to do, but you should really focus on getting down the song exactly how the drummer plays it first it really tests the skill of listening and recreating what you hear; visualizing it

  • perfectly played.

  • awesome dude!!! I'm stunned :D good job!
