  • Like, dUde -- That is some SERIOUSLY wonderfully deeply demented jammin-riff take-off Rob Wolfman gin-joint funkytown brokedown Davenport crossroads Northern-Delta badblues improv-thang there .... JeeZ, But that's beautiful to hear, really puts me in mind of Junior Kimbrough's tight, subtle, full-on fingerings that explode like blossoming petals of excrutiating soundZ ....

I'm inspired, you gave me a fantrastic window to follow you into that delicious wonderland of fretboard blues-dance magic!

  • @starmanskye

    thanks a lot man !

    you are very kind !

like you said, jr kimbrough, wolfman belfour, rl burnside and all that wonderful bluesmen from fat possum records they re invented the blues in our time and they are almost unknown !!

hope some day they get the recognition they diserve !

    cheers from south america !

    gracias de corazón amigo !!

  • After some playing around, I figured out that he's playing in an open G tuning but each string is tuned down a half step, probably to facilitate his vocals. Great tune. One of the tricky parts is getting all the little variations of the riff down that he plays and keeping that droning pulse up for 4 minutes while maintainint the listeners' interest. Hopefully, when I'm seventy, I'll have it down! Thanks for the info!

  • @300atThermopylae

    no problem !

and yeah ! ... this riffs may sound simple but they are really complex and full with little details ...

i like to think that this kind of blues is like some sort of magic trick that you try to learn all your life hoping some day you discover the little secret that creates magic !

i hope some day i could do that too !!

thanks for your kind words !

and you are right about this kind of blues

    saludos !!

  • @TheSpottytoad

Beautiful, what you said about believing to reach the top but just in fact being able to see where the top is.

I think that Belfour and Burnside played these riffs so much that it became a second nature to them and they became able to add little things there and there that made them unique.

So the magic is that they are simple but then for some reason when you play them there is always a little somethinh missing, which is fair.

By the way faunoram, you are good..

  • ...cool

I like what your doing - youre stickin to a style - y'know, cause a lotta of these yt guys just do robert johnson, or else they do covers of all sorta stuff from all over the blues world and none of it has any value

  • @faunoram.... I know what you mean and I feel the same way... It's also a bit like climbing up a long winding hill only to find that when you think you have almost reached the top..... PHEW!

OK that isn't the top but if I just go a little further I might be able to see the top from over there.

Nice work with the Belfour, I haven't tried Belfour yet... I'm still stuck on Burnside but here's to a lifetime of learning magic and climbing that hill. Cheers from the UK!

  • @blues999z
