In this 3ds Max tutorial, I cover the Surface, Edit Poly, Optimize and Mesh Smooth modifier. I also show you how to deform a standard box and extrude and bevel individual polygons to quickly create a perforated form.

Could not find Surface Modifier?
badmouse2000 1 month ago
Wow, I'm fairly new to modeling and prefer to make the models using spline cages first and then surface since I've been working in Solidworks before. But my Viking ship ended up with like a hundred thousand polygons (with the least amount of steps on the modifier I could afford without ruining the silhouette), so I figured I'd have to retopologize, which looks like a lot of work. I thought, why is there no automatic way? The optimize modifier was just what I was looking for! :D

Hi
I like this tutorial very much. I'm really a new user with zero experience.
Unfortunately I have the 2010 version of the software....I know I'm asking much....but would it be possible to make the same for this version?
