Wadebridge - say no to more supermarkets.

I am for the Supermarket with good reasons. Half these shops sell the same thing anyway so its just another to the list.

None of these shops would be affected by another supermarket opening. It will save many people from driving to Bodmin or elsewhere, or from having to use tesco. The town centre shops have a completely different target market. And if you live in the town and work out of town, how can you get to the town centre shops? They're always shut when I'm at home

You say that having Sainsbury's and Morrisons will save you a trip to Bodmin - do you really want Wadebridge to be another Bodmin? A town that's full of empty shops with the ones that are there barely surviving, hardly any tourism, high unemployment...

Whereas think of the choices we have in Wadebridge - food is so much cheaper and better quality than the supermarkets if you go to the local butchers, greengrocers, fish monger etc.

I totally disagree with the previous comment. People come from far and wide to shop in our lovely town! We are famous for being individual, different and far from expensive I think you will be hard pushed to get a better deal in any other town.

It's also not just about 'another supermarket' it's about removing an architect designed eco-building and replacing it with another prefabricated monstrosity. Wadebridge has enough of those already!

I live in Wadebridge and can't wait for sainsbury's! Wadebridge is a big town. We need another supermarket (or two) to keep up in demand especially in summer when we have all the tourists!

I've lived in Wadebridge all my life and I have to say I never shop in half of these shops! They are all overpriced & purely for tourists and you cannot by everything in town and have to go to a supermarket to get anything decent!

Bring on sainsbury's! & Morrisons! It will save me a trip to Bodmin!
