My friend Ed Bell is a very well known antique radio collector. On this trip over to Ed's place I returned his repaired AK 487 and Philco 70 radios. Then I took a quick tour of Ed's amazing radio collection.

  • Many thanks for publishing this video.

I had bought a few radios from Ed. Some of them were from Dr Muchow's collection and as you know Ed had purchased many of them at the Muchow auction. When I was living in Atlanta (just one year, for my work) Ed had asked me to go to NC and see him. I was a bit concerned that I would have disturbed him so I did not do it... I have so many regrets now...

  • Thanks Rhoditis

Whenever Ed called me you could not mistake that big booming southern voice. He sometimes ask me to work on his radios. I always enjoyed going over there and seeing the new stuff he had. Plus he could tell you all about them too. I am glad I got to make a couple of videos of part of the amazing stuff he had.

    Thank!

  • Wow , your friend Ed sure has an amazing radio collection. That's funny, I've got a friend named Ed who also collects old radios like that. He's given me alot of his radios , He says he just wants to collect the 60's and 70's stuff now.

  • Ed is a well known collector. That pretty neat that you also have a friend named Ed that collects radios. Well most of the fun in collecting is the hunting, it is for me anyway. Enjoy those radios. There are some really beautiful radio made in the 60's and 70's. Thanks!

    ken

  • cool

  • LOL! Oh yes I've seen old radios in those horror / sci-fi movies. My favorite is "Robot Monster" in 3D, electronics mixed with a bubble making machine.

  • if you wonder why i say that " antique stuff looks scary ", well, here's why. well, if you watch horror or sci fi movie or play video games of those genre, you see a lot of antiques and of course it take place in old buildings and i goes perfect with the plot of the movie or game too.
