@claudemalade It's pronounced MI (as in mint, or milk) - J (just a normal J as in Jack) - WIZ (as in wizard). I was lucky enough to study with Dr. Racy and even accompany him on stage. The sound of this marvelous instrument just goes right down to my DNA! Too bad the video cut him off just as he was getting started, the ending of this solo is amazing!

@claudemalade Mij-Wiz ... The J is hard to pronounce without hearing it I guss, so sorry. Hope it helped.

MIHJ (imagine the fist syllable of the word mitten, but with a sloshy J at the end instead of T
WIZ (like cheese wiz)
Together is only 2 syllables, Mij-wiz. I come from a lebanese family in which many of us play this instrument trust me this is how you say it.
