I just fit mine up with a gas burner and be done with it. (All of mine are that way) including my SE-3..

I had one very similar to that, my parent's brought back from Germany -- fuel tabs made her go, and alot of fun.

Methylated spirit is what it is designed to run on which is quite easy for us to buy in the UK and cheap. Check out my video of my SE3 and SE2 which may give you more info on this great little engine.

I just inherited one of these from my uncle. I'd like to make a short video for my aunt of it running but am having some trouble finding methanol. I can buy reagent grade from a scientific outfit for $25 but that may be overkill. Any ideas?

We have one of these in the family somewhere, as I recall it had a belt driven pedestal grinder as an accessory?

They are part of our history now and well worth preserving
And of course using, fire her up and enjoy :)
