Totally adorable pair; are you sure Fabien isn't a girl? I recently found one of my cockatiels thought to be a boy was actually a female through the same noises and one of the definite males mounting her and mating - as far as I know that noise is a call to mate, there are other more chirpy ones that are more social but this particular bird is pining for male attention. Having said that I have heard of males taking on male mates so who knows! Well done on two happy and healthy looking tiels :)

@guleslionrampant the only thing thet are interested in is electric wires,my jewellery,my laptop buttons and my mobile...that is all they are interested in...lol
the weirdest thing happened to me today...my sweet, loving, talking, dancing, singing cockateil who was hand raised by me and who had never learnt to fly got scared of something in my room and flew away from my hand...and saw the living room door open and escaped out and out of my front gate which was by chance open flat too,and he landed himself straight in the middle of the roadthank GOD i didn't lose him though

@BennyJennyJ1 Wow - how scary! So glad he's OK :) It's hard when you live with other people, because they don't always know when the birds are out and they do careless things like leave doors and windows open. I live alone and so don't have that problem. Just be sure to keep him trimmed so that you can catch him like you did this time if he ever takes off again. When I have company, I keep them in their cages because I'm afraid they might get stepped on or accidentally get out the door.

@guleslionrampant i would have gotten heart attack if i had lost him !! i did take him to get his wings trimmed properly...but if you live alone then what do you do when you have to leave the house? i personally have never left my birds alone or unattended...i always leave them to be with my mom or my dad...but i just do that cuz i think they might feel neglected from being alone...i could be wrong though, but it would certainly be more convenient for me if they would be okay on their own

@BennyJennyJ1 I work and go to college so they are left alone for hours at a time at least 5 days a week. As long as they have everything they need in their cages - food, water and plenty of interesting toys - they are fine. I also leave the radio on for them at a level that isn't too loud so that they have something to listen to.

@guleslionrampant i left them alone today for the first time for nearly three hours...and returned to see them quite happy....may be they didn't really notice i was gone...what kinda toys do you buy them? i bought a baby's toy set for them because i couldn't think of any thing more appropriate...but they don't play with it much...

@BennyJennyJ1 Go to a pet supply store - like Petco or Petsmart (that's assuming you live in the US) - and ask a clerk to help you pick out some cage toys for cockatiels. Mine like toys made from leather strips with beads and things threaded on them and lattice balls with bells inside. After a while, through trial and error, you'll figure out what toys your birds like the best.
