Good stuff. One of the few Drifting covers out there that keeps it chill. The rest speed it up and it just doesn't have the same sound. Yours is a good tempo and well executed. Well done!

I've experimented with open D tuning for a few years now and started jamming acoustic songs in it, and when I first saw this video I could tell by when he hit open strings just the way it sounded it was the same tuning, which was a pleasant surprise cause I was already used to it. it's actually a pretty common tuning with acoustic songs

without an instructional video, i can only say so much to help. watch him very closely it took me about 2 months to fully grasp even playing it every day. Unless you have access to the tabs, I would say just watch the video as many times as it takes to grasp the concepts like I did.
