After months of heated town hall debates, health care reform had its first big test on the floor of the House of Representatives. Kimberly Dozier reports on this contentious day on Capitol Hill.
well, if insurance is not tangible, why are democrats pushing so hard for it? Insurance is every bit as vital as jeans/cd's.
Again, quit demonizing insurance companies. Every entity has a lobby in Washington. The democrats only attack a particular group when it's most expedient for them. Do you remember the time democrats waged a massive war against walmart?
besides, we're not talking about prices on cd's or new jeans. This is about the quality of life and resonable expectation of care that an average american citizen can expect regardless of their social standing.
Let me understand this...If i lose my job or just can't afford health insurance, hence am withougt coverage, and if get a cough, I can sign up for for the free govt health care plan allowing me to walk into any hospital and i will great treatment for my illness...Sweet! where do i sign up?
"The republicans are going to oppose anything a democrat want to do"
The Republicans don't need to oppose anything. Democrats have a majority in the House, Senate, and they control the White House. If Democrats can't pass a bill, it's because Democrats are opposing it.
Also, quite attacking insurance companies. That is propaganda put out by Obama and Pelosi. Walmart, home depot, banks, Dell,GE, IBM, phone/cable, wall street, etc all make more money than insurance companies. Open your eyes.
and if you want to know why some democrats are voting the bill down just look at their biggest financial contributors and low and behold you find health care or drug companies. This whole world revolves around one thing, money. It truly is the route of all evil.
This debate has nothing to do with costs and unemployment, it's all about politics and big business. Never forget that insurance companies are for profit organizations that look to their bottom line before your best interest. The republicans are going to oppose anything a democrat want to do on principle but especially this because it will cut into the profit of big business by offering offordable health care to famalies living on the margin who comprise over 70% of their customer base.

They make more money, but they're not paying senators and congressman to vote down health care.

I was speaking more along the lines of our domestic programs/departments. But as far as the wars go, the pit is bottomless.
