  • I just got to say that I'm in the restaurant biz and every kitchen that I've been into, and I've been in a lot of kitchens, all the kitchen crews goes nuts over my knife kit. In my knife bag are ALL Shun blades. From what I've seen, it's not Cutco trying to give Shun a run for the money. It's Global. And I've used some Globals and other knives before, they are just not comfortable enough. Some are too light, like Globals and others are too heavy. Shuns seems to be the most comfortable to me whe

  • @TheEviIOyo I have to agree, I prefer globals to macs though but thats mostly because I like the handles. Very similar knives and Macs have better value.

  • Shun knives are great, hard steel, thin blade and great look. But their chef knives have a too western shape instead of the gyoto shape the global G-2 has so I easily prefer global to Shun.

  • I bought a shun, now I can't afford food.

  • I have a shun!

  • Macs beat shuns by light years

  • Folded Damascus steel knives are not only beautiful, but it makes a very sharp and durable steel. I came into this video, being a mild knife collector with a lot of knowledge who doesn't expect anything less than a razor's edge on my knives. I was expecting more bullshit cooking knives claiming to be "high carbon" no name steel and Japan, which makes it better apparently. But nope, I was pleasantly surprised. I would own these kitchen knives myself.

  • Price, Cutco way more expensive, Performance of Cutco laughable.

  • @andyjack33 What makes Cutco inferior to Forschners?

  • @ryutoki beacause Shun Knives are too bloody expensive & America's Test kitchen are very cost conscious. America's Test Kitchen like to represent the best products at a cost concious price, which Victorinox / Forschners Knives are; even if Cutco knives where the same price they would still be inferior.

  • @andyjack33 So then why doesn't America's Test Kitchen use Shun if they're one of the best?
