Mikey Rocks - The Sunshine (July 2010)

It's not everyday you hear solo material from The Cool Kids, but when Mikey hit me up to drop these tracks I was super interested in hearing what he was working on. Here he teams up with fellow Chicago beatmakers Produktionix for a couple records, really digging the direction. 'The Sunshine', an ode to cunnylingus, is definitely a standout here.

sir michael's new shit is fantastic and i can't i believe i just got put on bat phone/the deal went sour/bahamas/the sunshine. never have i snoozed this hard; explains why the cool kids have been quiet since tacklebox. so, mikey is doing a solo job: me gusta.

i got one question though, why do they have such an affinity for fish? i mean, gone fishing, tacklebox and then when fish ride bikes... is there some urbandictionary type thing im missing when it comes to fishing? no biggie, shit slaps

@capedclown you mean "the rocks report?" if that is the mixtape you're referencing, the entire tape is not about eating box. definitely coochie crook, but i doubt the entirety of the project is about what you mention.

@HNICpt3 I'm think it goes deeper than that. i remember checking in on a ustream that mikey put on earlier this year and i asked the 'what's with the fish symbolism' question and he said that he and chuck would divulge that information when they were retired. it is something they both came up with, but aren't ready to say why it is so prevalent.
