@Withshortwings You said it, short wings. This is real mature, real grown up sexy singing, but with confidence and class.

Laura Nyro wrote a good one :)

Love it. Reminds me of that semi-recent album of bossa nova covers of rock songs ("Sweet Child O' Mine", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", and others).

@halaluani Yea, the liner notes to the cd says it's not ever certain if Ms. London did this album as a "parody" of songs of the time or if she really meant these songs as covers of the day. I dunno, but as a whole, the album is great. "Louie, Louie" is VERY left of center for her. Hey, even The Sandpipers did "Louie, Louie", so who knows? Isn't there an album of people like William Shatner doing rock songs of the day??

OH yeah...oh so oh yeah.

@grooverunner I also was stunned to see her cover this song. But as I'm listening, I noticed in the listing of music off to the right that she also covered Louie, Louie! I have to say, though, as much as I love her voice, I think she bombed on this song. It's not an appropriate song for her voice. She tried to sell it by being sultry, but imo, the effort fell flat.

she really finds the sensual in the song....the sultry descriptions of slow sensual delights.
Sarazar :D
