Finnish Express train 705 passes Kaatopaikka level crossing. This level crossing has two different sound bells, and good visibilities. But before warning lights with half-barriers and bells was installed in 1988, there was one bad level crossing accident in 1977, express train, going to north, collided with car, at least one in the car died immediately. Car was dragged about 600 metres off crossing, and was totaled.

Pikajuna 705 ohittaa Kaatopaikan tasoristeyksen Lapinlahdella.

  • nice videos Kyosuke1989, is there any reason they were all made during winter?

  • Were all made during winter? Come on.. :D There is other videos made on summer, autumn and spring.

  • THIS is crazzy! It comes down MUCH too late.

    Only 20 Secounds to go!

  • This is normal warning time on guarded Finnish level crossings. Warning starts, at minimum, 30 secons before the train.

  • I think the train looks interesting - do you have or know of any videos of what the interior is like?

  • It is very nice.. In Hungary (my home), there are a lot of railway crossings with warning lights (2 red which are flashing when trains come, and a white light, which is flashing when the crossing is clear, no train is coming). But there are no bells! For this reason, there are a lot of accidents at the crossings, because a lot of people ignore the red lights. The train is much stronger than a car. If there were bells, a lot of accidents would be prevented.

  • No, that's just idiot. Why should you do that anyway? Because some people who drive cars can't think for themselves if they are in front of a railroad crossing? Okay, there are always idiots who will cross, but to make so much sound pollution... no thanks! :)

  • Talvi oli osuva aika kuvata tämä. :)

  • @Kyosuke1989 In northern europe(Scandinavia, Finland, Baltic states) the spring and autumn look just the same as the winter look in rest of europe. bartkurtsteck1953 probably didn't know that and thought that in other videos there's winter too.:)

  • 電鐘だ!

  • 電鐘だ!!

  • @flagtube Its 22 seconds minimum in the US

  • nice music :D

  • nice ;)

  • @ flagtube: it's about the same as here in the Netherlands... normal warning time is (if I remember it right) 22 seconds total: first 5 seconds bells sound, then the gates come down in 11 seconds, and remaining 6 seconds or so the train will be on the crossing.

  • O.K. I should have asked "is there any reason MOST were made during winter" Your english isn't too bad, but you need help with verbs. Your response should have been "There ARE other videos made DURING summer, autumn and spring. Here's the rule: when the noun is in the singular "video" we use "is" when the noun is in the plural "videos" we use "are" There, now you learned something. Uh-oh, it's tea time, gotta go. Class dismissed.
