In his first visit to sub-Saharan Africa, Obama did recognize his Kenyan roots.But the u.s. leader picked out Kenya as one of the african countries that have failed to realise their potential. But as Brenda Mulinya reports, a section of Kenyan leaders are putting up a brave face, in the wake of the stinging rebuke.

What Kibaki did is unforgivable! Kenyans made the biggest stride in 2002 and reclaimed political virginity, only for Kibaki to rape kenya again in both orifices....Kenya is hurting and the illegit pregnancy she's gotten from Kibaki should be aborted;which naturally is bloody!

The take home message for Kenya and Africa in general is that - yes, the West is complicit in a lot of Africa's grief, but if we are serious we can do much better. We need to have industry and a plan like the Asians. After all, you don't expect favor from your competitors. Your competitors want to dominate you and will use your weaknesses to do so.

Obama said some of the same things he said at University of Nairobi's Taifa Hall when he visited as Senator. He got insulted by Dr. Mutua and current Kenyan ambassador to the USA, Rateng' Ogego who had not even presented his papers to Bush at the time. Kenya's leadership were among those whodid not imagine he could get elected. Moreover, the conservatives in the USA would have gone crazy if he visited Kenya, which they keep on claiming to be where BO was born.
