Funny translation failure during Ahmadinejads speech to Lula da Silva - Iran Tehran 16 May 2010

Brazils president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva meets with Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran on Sunday, 16 May 2010.

Problem occured when Ahmadinejad started reel of prayers in Arabic which the translator had difficulty to interpret to da Silvas native language.

Translation of the clip:

"You are watching live transmission of Dr. Ahmadinejads speech".

Ahmadinejad says: Mr. Lula Da Silva, the respected president of Brazil.........no translation available?............................................................

Ahmadinejad continues: " In the name of God...(prayers in Arabic bla bla)"...........

At this point the translator doesn't know how to translate the religious readings in Arabic to Portuguese!

And Da Silva points out that there is no translation!

Ahmadinejad: Oh, wait a minute It´s coming! Wait a minute!

And then Ahmadinejad started all over again, now with translation: Mr. Lula Da Silva, the respected president of Brazil.....

How was the Brazilian president who (I presume) don't speak Persian able to detect the wrong translation and how was Ahmadinejad who don't speak Portuguese able to tell that Lula was having problems understanding his translation?
