A great jazz standard played on a Samick Artist Series edition. I'm thinking of putting this guitar on ebay soon (gotta try to keep the numbers down somehow!!)so see what you think of the sound.
Interested parties give me a shout...

...meanwhile i've had a few questions about the arrangement...
It's my own arrangement of the tune, with a load of other things thrown in too.
As with all my stuff it's just a bunch of ideas i ripped and stole from so many different places i can't even remember.
No tabs yet but maybe on the way...!

Big thanks to everyone who commented

  • Hey I just bought a Samick SAB60 I think it has similar pickups , do you know if its ceramic or alnico magnets in the pickups ?

  • @wisesatyr72 sorry, i really don't know. Hope you liked the video :)

  • DO you have any transcriptions?

  • NO i don't.

  • Great technique, great tone. One thing I can't figure out is are you playing through an amplifier or is that the sound that comes out of an archtop naturally? I've never knowingly heard a recording of an archtop played without an amp?

  • I'm playing through a Vox AC15 amp with a mic (maybe an SM57, i can't remember).

In my opinion, archtops don't sound too great recorded acoustically (though i'm sure someone will disagree with me).

Really glad you liked the clip, thanks for the comment - N

  • I'm a guitarist and I cannot tell you how many times I've watched this video. Such a beautiful rendition of this great old song. Great job on both the slow soulful beginning and the upbeat section. Just played so cleanly. Makes me want to get jazz lessons or just quick guitar altogether...

  • i have this same guitar. i bought it in Beijing, China and never seen it anywhere. do you know what year yours is? there is very little info/photos of this model online. you get a great sound out of it! cheers!
