Transcript: THE PRESIDENT: Hello, everybody. Good morning. Before I begin, I want to say a brief word about the historic vote which took place early this morning. The United States Senate knocked down a filibuster aimed at blocking a final vote on health care reform, and scored a big victory for the American people. By standing up to the special interests -- who've prevented reform for decades and who are furiously lobbying against it now -- the Senate has moved us closer to reform that makes a tremendous difference for families, for seniors, for businesses, and for the country as a whole.

  • No, it's not a "big victory" for us as this was nothing more than a power grab. Obama and his central banking buddies can now funnel our money through them and take however much they like and dole out a band-aide here and there and say they're "doing it for the people."

Disgusting. George Washington must be rolling over in his grave.

  • What a LIAR. The whole bill was designed by special interests. Who does he think he's fooling?

  • You can't expect charity care to save you every time. Every time this happens, society has to pay a price for that financial burden - one more reason for the rise insurance premiums for everyone; everyone shares the cost. If the VA health system works for our fighting men and women, there's no reason why it can't work for everyone else, regardless of your health. If America expects to retain some of it's preeminence in the world, then this is what have to do to in order to stay competitive.

  • I cosign! Saying no to attainable health coverage at this day in age is a pretty reckless decision for anyone to make. I know the current reform does not go far enough, albeit a step in the right direction, but how would you like it if you got struck by a truck on the way to work on Monday morning in your car and was confined to a hospital bed for months with no coverage, or maybe your insurer decided to drop you one day because you are were too expensive for them?

  • Epic lulz.

  • "Earlier polls show that over 60% of americans supported the public option."

Then 60% of the Americans polled believe in theft. I don't want to pay 1 thin dime to the government for anyone's health care. Just because someone has the letter of law and a monopoly on violence doesn't mean they have justice on their side.

  • @makeinstall I like your name. I'm assuming it is a nod to linux(or perhaps another unix variant).

I think the problem is that people don't like this bill on both sides of the political divide. The liberals don't think it goes far enough and the conservatives think it goes too far. Earlier polls show that over 60% of americans supported the public option. It is reasonable to infer that some significant proportion of people who don't support this bill don't think it does enough.

  • i dont know why this video has such a bad rating, to the obama-haters, at least all the people will have a health care. why are you against that/?

  • I have to say,... that I am against this Bill!

I suggest,... that President Obama sends the Bill to the Vatican, and studies botanics and the Herbalist Pioneers of American History together with his children during the Christmas Holidays, so he may have the chance, to discover the «secret life of power», of «powerful» organic life on Earth really is

Not a single human invention on Earth can trump nature.

I offer further «esoteric» advice against the value of the Bill + additional fee

  • good at least mental health care will be free in the us.

  • Thank you.

  • republican party has fallen to deaf ears. All their fear requires no work and all talk. republicans trip on their own bullshit.
