Bill Moyers speaks with Keith Olbermann Part II

Continuing Bill Moyers' interview last night with host of MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann about the relationships between politics and journalism, fielding questions from Moyers' own staff on how Olbermann perceives his particular style of journalism. It is-- it becomes a nation of screechers. It's never a good thing. But emergency rules do apply. I would like nothing better than to go back and do maybe a sportscast every night. But I think the stuff that I'm talking about is so obvious and will be viewed in such terms of certainty by history that this era will be looked at the way we look now at the-- at the presidents and the-- the leaders of this country who rolled back reconstruction // I think it's that obvious. And I think only under those circumstances would I go this far out on a limb and be this vociferous about it.

Neville Chaimberlain belonged to the Tory party ie. the conservative party in Britain. He got replaced by Winstton Churchill after back bench conservative members of parliament convinced the tories to replace Chaimberlain with Churchill.

KO doesn't "attack" with his commentaries. He sheds light on subjects that other anchormen wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. He is taking such a big risk by sharing his commentaries because he knows people will disgaree vehemently with him. But as the war falters on, the more he is respected for what he says. What we're seeing is not anger per say, but an impassioned patriotism. He sees an injustice and he talks about it.

Then she should take time to listen to him then and then maybe she would be able to successfully seperate him from the others. so if somebody had something in common with you that makes them like you ? help me understand ? I understand that her mind associates physical appearance with internal character. If you're all so educated then you should know to never judge a book by the cover.

To help you understand why she would ask that is because of the trouble Tavis Smiley recieved in 2002 when he criticized the Bush Administration and was promptly dropped from BET. Although race should not be involved, the truth is K.O is a 40 year white guy on TV and just about every anchor fits that bill. Including Billo! So it is a valid point when we had white dudes who are spitting ignorance as news to ask why he matters.
