Jayson Werth Gets Welcomed Back at Phillies Game

So I had tickets to the Phillies game last night. It was gonna be an exciting game. The seats were 2 rows behind Jayson Werth in his first game back to Citizen's Bank Park so we knew it would be a 'colorful' game. Plus it was "Dollar Dog Night" so we'd be gorging ourselves with as many ballpark franks as we could handle.

Unfortunately my brother-in-law got sick and couldn't go on short notice. So I took my 5 yr old daughter. Normally I would be happy to take her, but I had a feeling it might not be the best idea because of the expected heckling of Werth, and boy was I right. The heckling was incessant (though usually funny). Fortunately it was never off-color, but my daughter grew tired of the screaming coming from all around us by the 7th inning. You'll start to hear her give little cries after some of the louder shouts by people. After this inning ended we left for ice cream at Pops on Oregon Ave (I had to placate her at this point) and headed home.

This video was taken in the bottom of the 7th. I took the video for 2 reasons: 1st because I had a feeling it was going to be a good inning of insults, and 2nd I just got a new camera with a sick 35x zoom and wanted to try it out. I was pretty impressed with the quality of video (and photos) from about 380 feet away! Please excuse the shaking and the in-and-out zooming as this is the first time I've used the camera!

One of the hecklers behind us wore a green Phillies shirt with printed fake dollar bills taped to him with Werth's face in the middle of the money. The following are most of the lines that were said (ok screamed).

A plastic bag blows into his area:
"Aye, he thought it was a dollar bill!"

"$5 to throw the game, $100 mil to throw your career!"
"Jaaaayson"
"Didn't you know its dollar hit night?"
"Hey Jayson, there's a dollar bill there!"

After he fields a ground ball:
"Hey he earned his money right there!"
"If that was a $20 you woulda caught it on the first bounce!"

"I think there's a 5 cent deposit on that bag!" (for recycling)

During a team meeting on the mound:
"Take a break baby!"
"Remember when you used to be a part of your team meetings?!"
"Its gotta be tough out there Jayson. You take a break!"
"Its hard out there for a hitter!"

"You gonna steal some money with those gloves?"
"Werrrrthlesssss"
"The rest of your career is going nooowhere!"
"Waste of money!"
"You weren't bent on that Cliff Lee deal, were ya?!"
"Enjoy your October!"
"You're gonna have a nice long offseason!"
"Cliff Lee is gonna have more hits!"

God i went to the game in dc last night. Sounded just like a game at CBP except the phils batted first and wore their road jerseys. Every time werth came up to bad the whole crowd was booing him.....along with chants of werrrrthlessssss. Hunter pence and cliff lee were werth every penny!
