Built in 1985, this particular model is a police trade-in. Known as the military and police magnum of its era, this revolver was one of, if not the last, standard issued wheel-gun for police before the semi-autos took over.
Beautiful pistol, cambering the awesome .357 caliber.

  • Went to a Gun Show today and came across 2 of these 65-3 with the Stock Rubber Grips. They are not much different then what is on this gun. The ones I located today also ran $325 and $350. The one for $325 was rough but the $350 one I could not pass up! Very nice gun - good quality - the trigger pull is very light with the hammer in the double action and single action positions. Cant wait to test it out. This gun makes my Taurus Model 66 .357 mag look bad and it was new this one is not. lol

  • @v89grpm that's great man. congrats on your find. :) I find the older models such as these are better with the fire-pin mounted hammers.. just my preference i guess... thanks for watching.

  • I have a 65-3 just like this one.. cop trade in and all.. I got it at the local pawn shop for $325+government theft.. mine came with the stock wood grips and I HATED them.. first they were beat to hell and second the gun doesn't "feel" right I put rubber grips on mine and it made the gun.. much nicer to hold...

    just my 2¢

  • @rustoxide sweet! thats awesome man, thanks for the insight on the wood grips, i always wanted to know how they felt.. thanks for watching. :)

  • You would do well to keep the rubber grips. The stock wooden ones are not comfortable.
