Gary is not really a hacker. He simply copied and pasted a code from the internet and used simple skills to access 97 Pentagon and NASA computers. We should thank Gary for showing us serious flaws in our security system. In addition, his Asperger Syndrome drove him to collect information, which he did not share with others and probably did not intend to share.
I just found out that Gary used a common software utility to do his "hacking." I had heard he downloaded it from the internet, but this is a more accurate description.
That's right he's not a hacker...you know, right? Were you with him? No. You have no clue. STFU

Right and wrong are very subjective things indeed. I am guilty of many wrongs ... and under my own morality - which is based mostly on live and let live principals, 99.999% of people are also guilty of grave wrong ... whether intentionally or not. On my own scale of judgement, I think Gary has already paid for his crime more than in full. As a person, he has already been tormented excessively, from his perspective. To do anymore to him ... I think ... would be "evil".

Let's just look at motivation. What would Gary have stood to have gained or lost from his actions? And what do the USA stand to gain or lose from their stance? Gary wasn't diagnosed with AS until last year. He had it from day 1 - as a child ... but he had no support, no guidance to help him cope with it. His actions were influenced by his belief's and condition. As far as I am aware he does not have a history of harming others in any way or desiring to. Can the US government say the same?

The USA claim (very unconvincingly) that Gary intended to damage their systems. If that's true - then Gary must take responsibility for that - albeit diminished on account of his AS. I for one don't think it is true. I don't think he damaged the systems at all - and was just looking for evidence for the energy conspiracy thingy. He was doing what he thought was right for Humanity. Can the USA government say the same? Or were they doing what was right for their image?

I think Gary was wrong to do what he did too (and I have Asperger's). But I can understand why he did it. He was mostly interested in free energy. The USA (and historically and currently-through-imports) the British commit environmental crime and are guilty of imperialistic bullying - and deaths of many. So Gary let his anger at this sort of thing and left a few taunts. So he wanted to find the "truth" (as he saw it) about the energy-technology-cover-up. Was he wrong to pursue that?

Right and Wrong is a subjective concept, personally I would be glad to have Gary as a neighbor. He has done less harm to the american people than the Pigs at the protests in Seattle.
The USA government is terrorist and disrupting the armed forces is pretty mild. No one got hurt.
The USA government needs to take it on the chin and deal with the real issues. Like the dominionists at the highest level of the armed forces.

Taunting messages? where did you get that information from? your attitude towards ppl with Autism is one of ignorance you seem to think that ppl with autism are stupid idiotic individuals that can't be trusted that act a certain way by choice i can tell you now it's not a conscious decision i seriously doubt that you even know anyone that's autistic you remind me of tom cruise in rainman you seem to have that kind of attitude towards ppl with autism a total lack of understanding
