  • I always thing it's going to start 'White Christmas!" at that piano bit! :L

  • Though maybe some things can not be forgiven, I would proffer the sentiment that forgiveness is never cheap. It is weighty and for some people precious, priceless.

I understand that some people in this situation would find it hard if not impossible to forgive, and though I am quite unforgiving upon occasion, I would say that if she does indeed find the strength of heart to forgive him, through opening up that door to such a hope, I respect her.

Most people can not break their ego to ask.

  • @The02236 I think it's left open in a way that maybe she doesn't forgive him, or maybe she does.

real relationships can end with a happy wedding and a longevive marriage only if both of them are ready for everything. Are you ready for that ?

  • @The02236

ah, ok. But actually, I don't think this is supposed to indicate she forgives him - he said "we have to at least try" and I always interpreted it as doing that. There is no kissing/making up scene as you usual get in romantic comedies so for me, that was always the sign that not everything was resolved.

But I guess they made that ending on purpose, so everybody could interpret it differently. We'll never know ;)

  • @saliri20 "real relationships don't end with a happy wedding"..you said it, so what is the point of seeing such a thing in films, if i am already tired of it.

If not in real life, at least in a film i wanna see something diferent.

But, that's not why i said is cheap. Is cheap because she forgives him, it would have been way better if she didn't.

  • @The02236

what do you mean cheap ending? it was perfect - because every other film ends with a wedding/happily ever after. this one didn't and that is what makes it so interesting and, most of all, real. relationships don't end with a happy wedding.
