  • The VIRGIN Queen a whore? A bastard when born AFTER the marriage of her father to Anne Boleyn? A NOTHING who reigned England for 65 years, restored its sense of national pride, eliminated its religious unrest at the brink of civil war, boosted its economy, replenished its treasuries, kept away from her people the Inquisition, and oh yeah, did so without any man and proved women could be great? Are we talking about the same person here? Have you been sniffing markers recently?

  • Can we just talk about how bad ass of a movie this is and when she screams at the Spanish Minister about the hurricane inside her I always get chills. Bravo!

  • España podia haber ganado la guerra pero una tormenta diezmo el ejercito

  • @hoselui She saved her cousin's life 20 years earlier when the Scots would have executed her. That's why Mary fled to England because QEI was only monarch to show Mary support when she was 1st locked up. Yes she imprisoned Mary, but Mary plotted to take Elizabeth's throne several times. The last plot was to murder Elizabeth. each time a plot was uncovered everyone expected Mary's execution. In those days Mary would not have lasted more than 2 or 3 years had anyone else been king or queen.

  • Jesus Tapdancing Christ I forgot this was made by Hewitt/Packard and not Universal. It's a MOVIE you pretentious, inflamatory fools!

  • @ItBrandonSilver Sure, I'll forget. Jeez, guy, just because someone doesn't agree with your opinion doesn't mean you have to be offended by it. Marion Cotillard caught someone's attention, and she won...just like Gwyneth won when I thought Cate should have. However, if someone tells me they are glad Gwyneth won, I'm not going to be offended by it.

  • @ItBrandonSilver It is my opinion. She played Edith to a "T." But that's my opinion, and you are free to disagree, which you have done so.

  • With what? Over the top makeup and overacted scenes? Forget I even starting speaking to you.

  • @ItBrandonSilver Actually, I loved Marion's performance. She truly transformed herself.

  • At least you didn't like Marion Cotillard...her performance was terrible in my humble opinion.

  • @ItBrandonSilver I didn't say she should've won in '07. I LOVE Julie Christie and her performance was elegant, beautiful, but also a painfully accurate portrayal of a person with Alzheimer's Disease. She was my choice. However, I was not disappointed when Marion Cotillard won. We watched La Vie en Rose the night before the Oscars. At that time that I realized she could win.

I disagree with your '98 decision. I saw Central Station, and FM was my 3rd choice. Emily Watson was clearly 2nd.

  • Uh, no. Julie Christie should have won in 2007 and Fernanda Montenegro should have won in 1998.
