White people aren't the only ones who ask the 'hair washing question.' I've had latinos and asians ask me that dumb sh*t too. It depends on my mood but most of the time I simply say, 'So you've never heard of shampoo?' Then their facial expression changes upon realizing how stupid the question was. Oh and when I had dreadlocks people wanted to touch it. The answer was always the same. 'NO.'

I have an afro and believe it or not they're not very common in England - I get the most stupid questions - one of the most common being "What does it look like when it's wet?!"
I'm never quite sure what they expect to gain from this new-found knowledge...
