well..during that period the Beatles were influenced by greek music after watching the film Zorba with Anthony Quinn.
the guitar solo here reminds a lot of the instrument bouzouki.
The Mr. Kite solo is like a bouzouki as well:)

Very interesting observation.... it certainly does have a strong Greek tempo and influence.
