I just learned about Jim Jones and I still do not understand how someone could ever carry out what he did

@MrDane634 he drank poison, and so did many of his followers as well as having some of his other followers gun down the ones who didnt drink the poison. His death was the same as all of his followers. If he is burning right now so is everybody there. The ones who were trying to get away still held faith in his twisted view of what jesus and god were. No matter how you slice it, if he is burning right now so are the rest of his flock. Food for thought my friend.

The whole point of life is to find or create yourself. if you're born into a concept of God, how can you have hope? You're hoping for God, not for yourself or others, that is wrong. You see when someone like me does something for someone else, that's human compassion, when a person who believes in God does something, they're doing it because they think God is watching them, that is wrong.
