  • Invented the name Marilyn.

  • @darkseaofempathy Yes, I just learned about this where several biography articles led me to the WikiPedia listing for Marilyn Miller.

Marilyn Miller was SO ADORABLE AND PRETTY !

  • If you enjoy Lawrence Gray, make sure you hear him doing another wonderful song, Rodgers and Hart's "With a Song in My Heart" from 1930, here on YouTube.

  • I love this song!

  • Marilyn Monroe's namesake...

  • Marilyn Miller is radiant and a good actress; you can see that there's something going on in her head. The music, the orchestration, the chemistry between the two singers...it's lovely!

  • One of my favorite songs from the '20's, and by the great Jerome Kern!

  • i love this so much . the song is wonderful one of my favorites from the 1920's marilyn miller was a gem . but i love lawrence gray .what a smile just a beautiful man , i think i am in love thank you

  • "Who, from Sunny" is actually a great tune but naturally, sound-tracks from 1929 are not very good by the time they have been on a shelf for more than 80 years. There is a great piano version of this song though which is a .midi file that has been sequenced on a computer from an old piano roll and it plays like brand new. It's your for free at stibbons dot com /midi2.html It is the second last song listed on the page - just right click on it and then "save link as". Enjoy!

  • There was once a strange TV movie about Ziegfeld, which portrayed Miller as a backstage bitch. One of the big scenes of the movie had Miller just before going onstage one night getting the news that her husband had been killed. She was all torn up but Flo pushed her out on the stage and she did Poor Butterfly while in tears. The TV movie has not been shown for maybe 30 years.
