This is the 1st thing I ever heard from Jukka. We had an exchange student in my class from Tampere & he was a guitar player & he played this in our jazz band class. I've loved most of the Finnish music/bands from this era. Great stuff for its time. Greetings from Nashvile, TN, USA.

Fine drummer on this track, too, but young Tolonen, barely out of his teens, is the real star of this one. Kind of like Zappa meets ("Extrapolation" era) John McLaughlin. Very energetic!

In the mid to late seventies, we listened to everything (or so we thought). I was booking blues bands at a bar in N. Wisconsin. A friend's sister came across this album at a radion station she was working at in Florida and sent it our way. Our lives were changed...WOW. There were few guitarists playing CLEAN jazz guitar like we have here on Ramblin. Thank you Jukka wherever you are! Still awesome to hear after all these years.

Sounds a bit like the German band of the same era, Thirsty Moon. Great stuff!! I can hear some of his influences in my current playing!!!

This could have been a Tasavallan Presidentti tune, as it has Jukka Tolonen on guitar, Vesa Aaltonen on drums, and Pekka Poyry on saxophone. Different bass player (may be Pekka Pohjola), though. Great jam/improvisation! At 3:50 great bebop jazz sound as the whole band kicks in.
