Make a Chroma Key effect with any colour

You can make a Chroma Key effect with any colour
Not just green and blue, as you may know from the TV weather forecasts, but any colour you can think of.
The only things you need are a video editing program, which has a Chroma Key feature, a one-coloured surface of any kind, and a video camera.
The best enviroment to shoot in, when you're a low-budget production, is outside. Find a carport, a wall or another place, to where you can attach your coloured fabric, paper or whatever you have, in a height, which will allow you to record yourself, an another person, or whatever you wanna record. Be sure to attach the coloured object in a height, so the object to be recordede in front of the Chroma Key setup will be able to stand up, if you intend to record a sitting or lying subject.

A weather and time condition like this will be preferable for Chroma Key shots:

Min. half an hour after sunrise/before sunset

No shadows

A lighting with an equal amount of colour on the whole Chroma Key background; no light spots; no dark spots


When you're about to edit, and you're in the Chroma Key feature, and you've enabled the effect: Use the Eyedropper Tool to pick precisely YOUR background colour directly from your recordings.
