Fuel-Air Explosives or FAE disperse an aerosol cloud of fuel which is ignited by an embedded detonator to produce an explosion. The rapidly expanding wave front due to overpressure flattens all objects within close proximity of the epicenter of the aerosol fuel cloud, and produces debilitating damage well beyond the flattened area. The main destructive force of FAE is high overpressure, useful against soft targets such as minefields, armored vehicles, aircraft parked in the open, and bunkers.

  • @LamboK28992 And?

What you fail to realize that 99% of "Americans" are immigrants, including you and me.

The fact remains FAE was NOT developed by the US but by Germany.

The technology was not "sold" to anyone as it is fairly simple and even you can make a FAE bomb without having to buy any kind of technology or equipment you couldnt legally get if youre over 18.

P.S. YT is owned by Google. Google was co-founded by a Russian, as a matter of fact.

  • Discovered by Germans, pioneered by Russians. They have now turned Fuel Air technology into the most powerful conventional explosive.

  • When was this filmed?

  • Thermobarics replaced these

  • Whoever built the first grain silo invented the FAE, guys

  • It was old technology when I was taught about it in 1989 at the naval explosive ordinance school. The movie they showed us about it was made in the early to mid sixties. They worked well to establish LZs but the "cheese burger" or "LZ in a can" was not FAE. Some of them were low tech- think about a propane tank with a time delay fuze in it, tank modified to rupture on impact.

Absolutely. It has been voted arguably the best for eliminating targets in confined spaces as bunkers, tunnels, buildings, etc. If you are not poisoned by the mixture itself, you are blown to bits from the explosion, and if that fails, the vacuum created from the rapid contraction of cooling gasses will rupture lungs, eyes, stomach, ears, and many other organs meaning you will either die, or be completely disabled and unable to fight

  • i didnt think they still used FAE

  • The fea is real and it is dropped from the f16

  • @loverofrunescape32 These have been in use since the 60's or earlier, and while your father may have created a variation or helped in designing a certain munition, he certainly didn't invent the concept.

  • my dad designed this while at queens university during the 1980s, has nothing to do with germans, russians or americans

  • @GYSgamer No it isn't. The ones in World in Conflict were designed to mimic real fuel air bombs.
