Spotlight, Floodlight (aka keyboardist Peter Adams) collaborates with singer Rob Dickinson (The Catherine Wheel) on a cover of Peter Gabriel's Mercy Street; a dedication to the poet Anne Sexton.

SF's emphasis on tones and keyboard textures, creates a bed for the imagination. Subtle electronics, electric piano, mellotron and glockenspiel, along with Dickinson's dour vocal delivery, emphasize the sadness and desperate loneliness of the troubled poet trapped in suburban 1960s America. Sexton's struggle with mental illness and depression culminated in her suicide in 1960.

The poem, 45 Mercy Street (from which Gabriel got his title) speaks of a desperate search for life's meaning, and for home. A search for that illusive place; Mercy Street.
........

Rob Dickinson is the former lead singer for the seminal British rock band The Catherine Wheel.

Spotlight, Floodlight's debut album, Polarized is an exploration into cinematic, instrumental, keyboard based compositions.
