  • @santoslittlehelper06 - Everything you said is true. I would only nitpick a bit with Bourdain for not having also put things in perspective. Just because some dinner guests at a dentist's home compliment him, that STILL doesn't mean that the guy can cook (and 999 times out of 1000 he CAN'T cook to a professional standard). Guests are almost always complimentary, so you can't base anything on the reaction of friends and relatives. To make money you must be ABSOLUTELY GREAT.

  • @MrPlanx

I don't think this video spends enough time touting this guy's resumé, lol.

This video does nothing to discourage otherwise "smart" people from opening up a restaurant.

As Anthony Bourdain gave, as a hypothetical example: A retiring dentist throws a successful dinner party in his home, and everyone eggs him on to open his own restaurant. He knows nothing of he business, but he figures that because he can cook at home, he can run a successful restaurant.

  • thank you for such great information

  • Yes - he's an expert at middle class corporate chain restaurants.

  • what happens if you want to open a restaurant but u dont have enough money to enhance the building..? what can i do?

  • Terrific presentation super credible. Your production company hit all of the hot spots and really peaked my interest. I'm far from your expertise but I build website using the same principles to deliver my restaurant customer sales messages. I would like to invite you to be friends if that's alright.
