I really want to learn how to speak Tlingit because I live in Juneau and my best friends grandma Hazel passed away. It left a big impact on my life and I want to learn Tlingit to show my respect for her.

I want to learn one language in my lifetime that nobody else knows, that is endangered. I love life, languages are alive, I want to keep them alive. I'm an American from Alabama, but I want to learn Tlingit.

Thank you so much. I might suggest that instead of saying "The next time we go into a clan house we will speak only Lingít" to "we will speak as much Lingít as we can" or "we will speak more Lingít than we have before." By making this "only" you might discourage those who can't speak much from coming. An idea: stories from Lingít culture (in audio, video, and text format) in several versions: all English, English with Lingít glosses, Lingít with English glosses, all Lingít.
