The historic 104 year old Grand Pier Pavilion of Weston-super-Mare was destroyed by a devastating fire on the morning of July 28th 2008.

The UNIC URW-706 has been employed to lift into place the reconstructed piers structural metal decking units. The metal decking units, made from polyurethane sandwiched in between 5mm steel sheets, are usually used in ship building. They are nearly 10 metres long and 2 metres wide and are being placed on to new structural steels to form the deck of the Piers new main pavilion. It sure beats building sandcastles!
