Managing Dependencies across multiple teams

A key tenant of Agile is to have cross functional scrum teams, thereby reducing the need for external dependencies, however as project teams grow larger you will often find the need to split into multiple scrum teams, while you should always try to keep the features developed local to each scrum team there are often situations where, external dependencies are unavoidable.
