@cpro08 I've used a 5/8 wave 2 meter Larsen right now i'm using a 5/8 wave Maxrad. Tuned for 2 meters the RR band still works pretty good. would be better if tuned for the RR but i transmit on 2meters.

nice setup, do you know of a good handheld to listen to rail traffic with ? I have a police scanner but I would like to listen to emergency traffic by my house and rail traffic at the same time thanks.

@lydia308 the popular HT is the Yeasu VX170 or the newer model 270? an older model is VX150. a aftermarket antenna will do alot better. smiley antennas sells antennas for different freqs or get a Diamond SRH77CA 15 inch whip.
