Highlights from the nonleague game between Mission Hills and Monte Vista on Jan. 5. In a North County-East County showdown, defensive-minded Mission Hills shut down Monte Vista for a 48-31 victory that snapped a three-game losing streak. The Grizzlies held the Monarchs to a season-low in points and only three third-quarter points in the victory. Junior center Kameron Rooks led Mission Hills with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
