Monsanto has been on a mission to control US agriculture. With the help of politicians and regulation agencies, the biotechnology company has been putting many farmers out of business. Many critics of the company believe it is the right of the people to know if they are consuming genetically-modified food. Jeffrey Smith, author of Seeds of Deception, joins us with more on the Monsanto.

its been just proven that G.M.O corn causes cancer and tumors the size of baseballs

and G.M.O food can't produce seeds to regrow and eventually all natural food will be extinct. Still think G.M.O's are good?

PS I will be doing some organic melons for market for the first time this year. Just a small test plot for starters. Wish me luck. If it works I'll let you know how! ;)

The federal government is corrupt. If Monsatan didn't have a treasure trove of lobbying power and didn't hold positions in the FDA itself, the studies which have proven beyond a doubt the true dangers of GMO crops would have already prompted a worldwide ban of this practice.

While organic grass and hay may be great for livestock, meat is not all people consume. How can you do organic cotton in GA, or peanuts, or things like watermelon. So difficult to keep fungus off of melons or tree nuts. Monsanto does have conventional corn hybrids that are non-gmo too.

The advancements in farming are on the organic side. Currently around 70% of the grain and soy raised in the USA goes to feeding livestock. Since MIRG out produces CAFO. That ground is better put to raising grass and hay, than to raising corn soy and wheat. Much easier too. You don't have the problems like disease and pests with monoculture crops when you raise perennial grass pasture. Most of that farmland you are talking about originally had prairie anyway.

While that may be great for places like Arkansas and China with rice. Or hilly terrain that specializes in cattle/Dairy production. The world is still going to need wheat, beans, and corn. And if a farmer can not get reasonable yields or waste all his diesel by cultivating its not worth. Also only certain places can do rice or livestock. I'm for organic veggies if people want them but I like the way farming is advancing to.
