I've listened to Chick since I discovered him when I was 15, (16 years ago) and this remains my favourite album of his, in fact possibly my favourite jazz album of all time.
And this track, it is the jewel in the crown.
I'm so familiar with this jazz standard from other greats, old and new (e.g. Coltrane & Hartman, Joshua Redman), yet this deconstructed rendition melts me within the first 25 seconds.
