PART 1

Ok, you people requested that I make a video of creating a song with the Electribe MX. This is how I usually do it.
This thing will be about 50 minutes long, so i cut it in 5 parts, each part is about 10 minutes long.

Gear used:
Korg Electribe MX for most of the stuff and a
Novation K-Station for the bassline.

Live.

  • hi you use a software on the PC with the korg?

  • @Rimasto67 Hi, no. It's only the EMX sequencing here, PC is used only for recording the sound for the video :)

It's connected to the K-station via midi and sequencing that too.

  • sup Harril.. Great stuff man.. i watched all 5 of em and still was hungry for more.. anyway.. how do u control the bassline from the k-station? do you use the arpeggiator from the emx for it?

  • Thanks, great to know that! :) The KS is set to receive incoming MIDI-data on channel 5, and that's also the channel that the EMX's fifth synth part is outputting. So yes, i have the EMX sequencing the KS as well as playing notes when i hit the arpeggiator pad!

  • wow , you know how make good music on this.... it can be done folks ! it can be done !

  • Haha, that's very subjective. But thanks anyway ;)

  • Hey! Thanks, just drop me a message if there's something in your mind!

The EMXs' learning curve depends on your background in music; if you are familiar with xox-type sequencers then it's pretty easy to get the hang of it! :)

  • my electribe will be here in less than a week, and korg should thank you HarriL.. Your music has inspired it all!! thanks HarriL and thanks Korg for making such awesome stuff!!!

  • too complicated for me V.V

  • The sounds are coming from the machine you see there (Korg Electribe MX), and one bass sound is coming from another synthesizer (Novation K-station).
